Creating a Comic at One of the Busiest Maternity Wards in the World

Inside an Afghan hospital, taking photographs and videos is extremely restricted for cultural and security reasons — so we turned to illustrations to share this special story of women caring for women.

In one hospital in Khost in eastern Afghanistan, not far from the Pakistani border, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) midwives and doctors have helped bring more than 100,000 babies into the world.
